Bertie Blackman’s rise in popularity has been exciting to watch this year. Though the independent Sydney-based singer has been recording music since 2003, it wasn’t until the release of third album ‘Secrets And Lies’ in May that she gained wider recognition, which has since culminated in AIR and ARIA award nominations.

Blackman and her band were a late afternoon highlight and major drawcard of the One Movement Showcase Festival’s first day, on Saturday 17 October. Here’s a side-of-stage recording of her single ‘Heart’.
