A live drummer, a DJ, and a Japanese singer who calls herself Tigarah. Such was the spectacle Perth music fans bore witness to at 5.40pm on Saturday, 17 October 2009.

Somewhat surprisingly, Tigarah’s energetic electro-pop act - not entirely dissimilar from fellow female Brazilian baile-funk practitioner M.I.A. - proved a highlight of showcase festival’s first day.
